ICN Youth Delegation 2025 The Inter-Council Network is proud to work with youth from across Canada in order to ensure that their voices have the opportunity to be heard at the AWID Forum 2024 in Bangkok, Thailand. About Eligibility Criteria Application Process Important Dates About the Program Each year, the Inter-Council Network selects eight delegates (representing the eight provincial and regional councils) to attend multilateral spaces and conventions to meet with policymakers and international changemakers. Over the past few years, the delegates have participated the Commission on the Status of Women at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The purpose of the current call for applications is to identify young individuals who will be supported by ICN in attending the AWID International Forum, providing them with the opportunity to engage in exceptional interactions at this global gathering of NGOs feminist, women's rights, gender justice. Chosen delegates are expected to take part in and contribute to a range of capacity-building and dialogue sessions before, during, and after AWID. They will also be encouraged to actively participate in and help co-create collective communication and engagement initiatives. Application Process ICN will cover the delegation members' expenses, including travel, accommodation and food, provide support to them before, during, and after the event. Please note that applications will be reviewed by a Selection Committee composed of ICN Youth Delegates alumni, and all applicants can expect to hear back from ICN by October 10, 2024. This recognition, made in coordination with the governments of the United Kingdom and Australia, reflects a long-overdue commitment to international law, human rights, and the dignity of the Palestinian people, and represents an important step toward lasting peace and justice in the region. In his statement, Prime Minister Carney affirmed that Canada’s recognition is firmly aligned with the principles of self-determination and fundamental human rights reflected in the United Nations Charter, and consistent with Canada’s longstanding policy of supporting a two-state solution. The seed bank helps provide access to seeds for organic farmers that make up IMAP’s network of producers, while preserving a diversity of climate-adapted native seed varieties. As a certified permaculturist, permaculture educator, and talented photographer, Mr. Mucia shares his passion for sustainable, ancestrally-rooted agricultural practices widely, facilitating trainings for local farmers and students, and running IMAP’s communications and social media. Mr. Mucia has promoted biodiversity, community agriculture, recuperation of ancestral practices, and native seed saving nationally and internationally through his participation in conferences and knowledge exchanges in England, India, Mexico, and the U.S.

Systemic barriers perpetuate disparities across all social determinants of health, as research and statistical data consistently demonstrate inequities faced by racialized groups in every sector of Canadian society. These inequities are not abstract—they manifest in tangible, measurable ways that affect access to education, employment, healthcare, and housing. Racial discrimination is a persistent and pervasive force that undermines individual potential and stifles collective solidarity. Addressing these challenges requires not only recognizing the reality of racial injustice but also committing to meaningful action that promotes equity, inclusion, and justice for all. ACIC is currently seeking participants for its PhotoVoices Program! Stories are powerful: they weave people and experiences together and shape how we see the world. Knowing the impact and value of a well-told story, ACIC’s PhotoVoices Program empowers youth to share the narratives they want to tell through photos. She is currently the Gender Equality Advisor at Aga Khan Foundation North America. Jennifer is passionate about working with partners to create innovative, intersectional, and sustainable gender-transformative change, with particular focus on women’s economic empowerment, gender-responsive learning systems, climate resilience, and sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV). Jennifer earned a Master of Human Rights and Democratization at University of Sydney (Australia) and a Bachelor of Arts (Joint Majors Psychology and English Literature) at Memorial University of Newfoundland. < Back Atlantic Council for International Cooperation celebrates funding for International Youth Internship Program Atlantic Council for International Cooperation Feb 7, 2024 At an event celebrating International Development Week 2024, the Honourable Ahmed Hussen, Minister of International Development announced $24.5 million in funding for the International Youth Internships Program (IYIP) across Canada, including $4.23 million for the RYSING (Resilient Youth, Supported Inclusion, Network Growth) project jointly implemented by the Atlantic Council for International Cooperation and the Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University (MI). The program offers Canadian youth the opportunity to gain valuable international work experience and make meaningful contributions through four-month international internship placements. Between 2024 and 2029, ACIC and MI’s IYIP program will place 190 interns with 22 partner organisations in 15 countries throughout Africa, the Caribbean, Asia, and Central America. Priority will be given to Racialized, Indigenous, and 2SLGBTQIA+ youth, and youth who have experienced barriers to employment due to COVID-19. Applications for the first IYIP cohort will open on February 12, 2024. < Back Global Affairs Canada Funds ICN’s LIFT Program with $38.5 Million Inter-Council Network Feb 5, 2025 Global Affairs Canada Funds ICN’s LIFT Program, Significant Impact in Atlantic Region Halifax, Nova Scotia – February 5, 2025 – The Atlantic Council for International Cooperation (ACIC) is pleased to announce that Global Affairs Canada has provided $38.5 million in funding to the Inter-Council Network (ICN) to implement the LIFT program. This funding will support small and medium-sized organizations (SMOs) across Canada, including ACIC's members in the Atlantic region, helping them to continue and expand their impactful global development work. The Honorable Minister Ahmed Hussen made the funding announcement yesterday, during International Development Week (IDW), a week dedicated to raising awareness of global development issues and recognizing the contributions of Canadians in creating positive change around the world. IDW is celebrated annually in February, providing an opportunity to highlight the essential role that Canadian organizations, like those within the ICN and ACIC’s network, play in advancing global development and international cooperation.
