ReMEMBER Campaign Day 10: Falls Brook Centre

Hint: This organization turns 20 this year. Happy Birthday!

Have you wished them a happy birthday?

The Basics: Falls Brook Centre or FBC is a "sustainable community demonstration and training centre in rural New Brunswick. Through local, national and international community development and resource stewardship work, we encourage and support initiatives that are working towards a society that respects ecosystems, honours diverse cultures and provides an economy in balance with communities and nature." They offer many programs from organic agriculture education to community development to programs in forest stewardship.

We hope to show it is possible to live more lightly in our environment while contributing positively to the local economy.

WHY WE LOVE FBC:

  • Though they are models of how to go about organic agricultural practices, they also support others in the south for their efforts

  • They lead by example putting everything they preach into practice first

  • Their long term vision for a more reconnected world. Read from FBC's Executive Director Jean Arnold here." One fundamental disconnect is between human societies and the land that supports us. Falls Brook Centre is an organization promoting and modeling reconnection."- Jean Arnold
