WATCH: Indigenous Youth From Ulukhaktok NWT Shares The Biggest Learnings And Challenges From Her 4-M

“I find that no matter where you are, or which country you may be in, every culture is fighting to keep their culture alive.”

These are the beautiful words of 25-year-old Phylicia Kagyut, one of the Indigenous youth interns who participated in our International Internships for Indigenous Youth program in 2019. Phylicia travelled from her home of Ulukhaktok, NT to Costa Rica, where she lived and worked for 4 months at a youth centre.

Phylicia was interviewed on camera about her experience by the Inuvialuit Communications Society — in the clip, Phylicia shares some of her biggest takeaways from the experience.

Recruitment for our next internships is currently on hold due to the evolving situation with the COVID-19 virus in Canada and around the world. The program team is actively monitoring the situation and we hope to launch applications soon.

In the meantime, you can sign up to be notified by email when we begin accepting applications for our next round of internships.
