ReMEMBER Campaign Day 17: Nova Scotia Public Interest Research Group

Did you get a chance to enjoy the Tall Ships this past weekend? A couple of us were oh so lucky and got tickets to see Hey Rosetta on George's Island. Hint: This afternoon's member gave birth to projects such as The Grainery Food Co-op and the Dalhousie Women's Centre.

The Basics: "The Nova Scotia Public Interest Research Group, or NSPIRG (pronounced ‘enness perg’) is a non-profit, non-partisan and non-governmental organization. Our mandate is to link research with action for social and environmental justice within an anti-oppression framework." Research: We fund and initiate original research and investigation into environmental and social issues. Education: We translate our research into education for all through independent publications and public events. Action: Guided by our research, we develop and support campaigns and actions that address social or environmental injustices. WHY WE LOVE NSPIRG:

  • Their three-pronged approach is clear

  • An impressive list of projects started at NSPIRG and are now flourishing

  • They're a one-stop hub for resources

The wonderful staff at NSPIRG (Andrew and Alia) i want to spend more time with NSPIRG:

  • Check out this initiative!

  • Have you heard of this campaign?

  • Going to be on the Dal campus in the fall? Go visit them!
