About the Role

ACIC is seeking a highly organized and motivated Member Outreach Associate to support membership engagement, outreach, communications, and administrative coordination.

This role will support ACIC’s work with members and partners across Atlantic Canada. The successful candidate will help maintain member and contact records, support outreach and follow-up, assist with newsletters and website updates, collect member news and opportunities, and help coordinate event promotion and participant communications.


This is an excellent opportunity for someone interested in nonprofit work, membership engagement, communications, public outreach, and the international cooperation sector.


Key Responsibilities


Member Outreach and Engagement

  • Support outreach to ACIC members, partners, and stakeholders through email, newsletters, website updates, and other digital platforms

  • Assist with member communications, including follow-up emails, event reminders, registration tracking, and information requests

  • Help collect member news, stories, resources, events, and opportunities to share through ACIC communications channels

  • Support the promotion of member opportunities, programs, events, and sector updates

  • Assist with identifying opportunities to strengthen communication and connection with ACIC members

  • Support outreach to prospective members, partners, and community organizations where needed


Membership Administration

  • Help maintain and update membership records, contact lists, mailing lists, and stakeholder databases

  • Assist with organizing member information, renewal details, event participation, and engagement tracking

  • Support internal tracking systems related to member engagement, outreach, and communications

  • Assist with compiling data, feedback, and participation information for internal use and reporting

  • Help organize digital files, contact records, event materials, and member resources

  • Support general administrative tasks related to membership and outreach


Communications and Resource Sharing

  • Draft and format content for member updates, newsletters, website posts, and email communications

  • Support the development and distribution of e-newsletters and digital announcements

  • Curate sector news, funding opportunities, learning opportunities, events, and resources for ACIC members and partners

  • Assist with basic communications tracking, analytics, and reporting

Requirements

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs program. To apply, you must:

  • Be aged between 15 and 30 years old on the start date, June 29, 2026

  • Have a valid Social Insurance Number, SIN

  • Be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada, or have refugee status in Canada


Ideal Qualifications

  • Education, volunteer experience, or work experience in administration, communications, public relations, nonprofit work, community engagement, marketing, or a related field

  • Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills

  • Comfortable communicating with members, partners, and stakeholders by email and other digital platforms

  • Comfortable working with spreadsheets, contact lists, registration forms, and databases

  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks

  • Experience with newsletters, websites, social media, or digital communications is an asset

  • Familiarity with platforms such as Mailchimp, Wix, Canva, Hootsuite, or similar tools is an asset

  • Knowledge of or interest in international cooperation, social justice, public engagement, or nonprofit work

  • Experience working or volunteering in a nonprofit, community-based, or membership-based organization is an asset

  • Bilingualism in English and French is considered an asset
