Summer Student Position, Accommodation Provided
Start Date: June 25
Duration: 8 weeks of full time work between June 25 and September 1 (2 weeks off in July)

Pay: $11.35/hour, 37.5 hours/week
About the Tatamagouche Centre:The Tatamagouche Centre is an education and retreat centre which invites and challenges people from diverse backgrounds to personal wholeness, right relationships, respect for creation and justice in the world.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
Working alongside the centre staff in all aspects of operations,
including: coordinating and promoting community events, assisting with office tasks, yardwork and maintenance, light housekeeping, and assisting in the kitchen. The student will also help coordinate the Social Justice Youth Camp (Aug 13-17) and the Earth Activist Training (Aug 18-Sept 1) The student will gain experience working with diverse groups of people.
Accommodation free of charge in our on-site housing facilities, if you do not live in the area.
Some Potential Assets:
Any or all of the following skills and experiences are an asset:
- Comfort working outdoors, and in a wide range of tasks.
- Media and promotion skills
- Involvement in community groups and/or faith communities
- Experience with ecological farming and/or social justice issues
- Volunteer experience & experience coordinating events
- Experience being in leadership positions
Capacity to work positively with diverse groups is a requirement.
To be eligible for this position, you must:
a) be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
b) have been registered as a full-time student in the previous academic year and intend to return to school on a full-time basis in the next academic year;
c) be legally entitled to work in Canada.
