Sustainable Development Goals

Through the Spring of 2019, we spoke with 70 youth and 43 youth-serving professionals in roundtables and 1-on-1 interviews across the Atlantic provinces. This work led to the release of Your Voice Matters: Engaging Atlantic Canadian Youth on the Sustainable Development Goals, a report whose research was conducted in order to better understand how to get youth engaged and interested in Agenda 2030, or the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The ACIC team wrapped up its big project by having a launch party to announce the findings.

At the event, hosted in the Lindsay’s Children Room at Halifax Central Library, we gathered with youth-serving organizations and people involved with all stages of the project. This involved talks from Jennifer Sloot, ACIC Executive Director; Nevena Vucetic, a student who participated in the project; and Louise Hanavan, one of the facilitators and main interviewer for the project. Attendees received SDG-themed items, as well as printed versions of the report.
