SuNNS Benefit Dinner

Tatamagouche Centre is proud to sponsor this event which is a collaboration between Sustainable Northern Nova Socitia (SuNNS) and Slow Food Nova Scotia.  SuNNS is actively opposing a proposed gold mine in our area. Gold mining is one of the most destructive forms of mining and the Warwick Mountain gold mine is proposed to be located in an area of 30,560Ha that includes the French River Watershed. This watershed provides the clean drinking water to the Village of Tatamagouche and also connects to other bodies of water throughout the North Shore. There is no adequate protection for the watershed; therefore, a gold mine would impose a large risk on our water supply.

The event includes gourmet, Mexican inspired food using locally grown and raised products, a Cash bar, a Silent auction, and a Talk by environmental lawyer and author Jamie Simpson.

Tickets are $50. Contact jperkins23@mac.com to purchase tickets before August 27.
