As a follow-up to the 6th Global Forum on Health Promotion held in October 2016, a workshop on Moving Evidence to Action: Advancing Global Health and Sustainable Development will be held on Thursday, August 24th at the University of Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown.
The workshop is designed to engage stakeholder organizations in exploring the value of collective action on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and to identify synergies that promote community health, well-being and sustainability. Professor Margaret Barry, Established Chair in Health Promotion and Public Health, National University of Ireland Galway; Head of the WHO (World Health Organization) Collaborating Centre for Health Promotion Research, will speak about the work of the WHO Collaborating Centre and the linkages between the SDGs and Health Promotion from a Global Perspective.
The workshop will run from 8:30 am - 1:30 pm. The fee is $50 and includes lunch and refreshments.
PEI is fortunate to have Professor Margaret Barry speak on this important topic. Professor Barry is coming to PEI as keynote speaker for the Symposium on Promoting Child and Youth Mental Health: Moving Evidence to Action being held in Charlottetown from August 21-23.
