Symposium Gala

You are warmly invited to the Gala Dinner, a featured event of ACIC’s 2025 Symposium, as we celebrate 50 years of global solidarity, connection, and action.

This special evening marks a major milestone in the Atlantic Council for International Cooperation’s journey. It is both a celebration and a reflection; a chance to honour the people, partnerships, and movements that have shaped ACIC over the past five decades, while looking ahead to a future grounded in justice, equity, and global cooperation.

You can expect: A vibrant showcase of visual storytelling from the latest PhotoVoices program cohort, created in collaboration with Connecting to Africa and Algo Peers. These powerful photographs and narratives offer a window into the lives, identities, experiences, and connections between youth across the Atlantic region and Ghana, exploring themes of belonging, community, and global citizenship.

Through curated storytelling moments, we’ll reflect on ACIC’s legacy of fostering grassroots partnerships, nurturing youth leadership, and advocating for just international cooperation. This retrospective will honour the many hands and hearts that have brought us to this moment.

During the evening, we will present the inaugural Leo Cheverie Award, honouring the legacy of the late Prince Edward Island activist and long-time ACIC community member. This new award celebrates individuals who demonstrate an enduring commitment to social justice, international solidarity, and community leadership, values that Leo championed throughout his life. We are proud to mark the beginning of this annual recognition as part of our 50th anniversary celebration.
