ACIC’s programming is developed through member consultation, agreed upon by the Board, and then implemented by the Executive Director and staff. The latest strategic planning process began with the input of ACIC members at the 2007 AGM in Saint John's, Newfoundland. In addition, focus groups were held with members in Fredericton, St. John's and Halifax to gain feedback from members on current and past ACIC activities.. Based on the suggestions from ACIC members and within the framework of ACIC’s Vision, Goals and Objectives, the Board of Directors has set the following priorities for the next three years:

• To provide opportunities for networking and collaboration amongst members and partners
• To provide members with capacity building opportunities that are responsive to their articulated needs
• To promote active global citizenship
• To strengthen ACIC’s ability to function effectively and sustainably as a coalition
